Presents

The Dog Island Civil War Music Muster
And School of the Musician
April 28 – 30, 2006
Red Bluff, California
The Dog Island Civil War Music Muster combines the fellowship of an Eastern fife and drum muster with a Civil War reenactment and School of the Musician in a beautiful setting on the banks of the Sacramento River near the historic northern California town of Red Bluff. Working in cooperation with the Reenactors of the American Civil War, one of California’s premiere reenacting organizations known for its spectacular event sites, the California Consolidated Drum Band invites fifers and drummers to participate in this unique experience.
Camping, both period and modern, is available from Thursday, April 27, through Sunday, April 30. Abundant motel accommodations are available nearby in Red Bluff. CCDB will provide a muster meal Saturday night. Participants may cook their other meals in camp, or choose to dine out.
Activities on Friday, April 28 will combine School of the Musician with tours of the site by local students and living history presentations by members of RACW. Attendance on Friday is, of course, optional. Saturday and Sunday will feature parades, concerts, instruction, and LOTS OF JAMMING! Musicians who meet qualifications and wish to do so may also participate as field musicians in the reenactment, from reveille through tattoo each day.
Detailed information about the reenactment and directions to the site can be found on the RACW website, www.racw.org/event/redbluff.htm
